 Being the grand-daughter of an accomplished agriculture professor in Jefferson City, Missouri, Phyllis was introduced to farming and its’ science at a very early age. Professor Hammons showed goal setting through example by accomplishing two great objectives; to create a polka dot pig and to get an office in the State Capitol Building ( not an easy task during segregation times). Born in New Port Rhode Island, raised in Missouri, Michigan and California, Phyllis wondered why people left their homes and moved to various places in our great country. After raising two sons and working in the Radiology field for almost 20 years she set a goal to travel in her Ford Ranger, Jessie, along the blue highways and visit all 50 states. In July 1988, a hospital position in Kahuku brought her to the North Shore of O’ahu. Once here, the 50th state of Hawai’i never let her go. Through~out her life ambition has been no stranger. She rode her bicycle from San Pedro to San Diego to celebrate another personal accomplishment, she broke the Master’s Power lifting record for dead lift at the Hawai’i State contest in 1990 at Turtle Bay, and lifted over 330 at the Master’s National the very next year in So. California. Through the years she has worked with women wishing to recover from substance abuse and does so to this day. Besides tending to the care of the Macadamia nuts on her farm, her objective is to raise rare palms, convert at least half of the trees to organic and grow Cacao. Her latest target is to better her 2006 Honolulu Marathon time of 7:18 to 6:30 in 2007. When the opportunity arose to enter the real estate profession, she felt a calling. Her choice proved to be a good one, as her first year in real estate she was a multi-million dollar producer. Her success is no mystery. “I Love working with people”, and from what we see, it’s obvious that they love working with her too!
